The email I sent out has been great. I have got lots of responses with individuals who have great stories. I will share them with you.

I started Crossfit in June of 2009 after a 2 year period of relative inactivity. My previous experience was limited to occasional globo-gym workouts then I started triathlon training in medical school. During internship I just worked. Then I started residency and added a fourth child to the mix. I didn't have time to return to the three hour bike rides and hours on the road and in the pool I thought I needed for fitness. Then I discovered crossfit. I tried Cindy for my first workout and finished 9 rounds (last three with knee pushups). My life changed. The crossfit method made so much sense. So I began building a home box in my basement. PRs come almost every workout (need to repeat some benchmarks still). Not surprising considering my first Fran was 10:53. I studied main site obsessively and watched every crossfit games video made. I bought bumper plates and made a squat rack. I learned olympic lifting via mainsite videos. I started training friends and now I give regular "free" classes. I am schedule for my level one cert in April. When I saw the sectionals coming to within 2 hours of my home I had to be a part of it. I am not the fittest man on the planet but I am the fittest I have ever been and will give all I have to the WODs.

Hello my name is Jacob Szafranski and I’m from Elgin Illinois and I’m excited to be headed out to Missouri to WOD with everyone at this year’s Crossfit sectionals next month. I’m a suburban fire fighter and got into Crossfit roughly 2 years ago after I started working with my current training partner and coach of sorts Evan Von Qualen (8th place 2007 Crossfit Games). I work out at my house in my garage and have turned my home into a communal gym for myself and all my friends and co-workers. Crossfit isn’t just about fitness form me but additionally it’s about community and self improvement. I have a training blog that I have been keeping over the last 18 months highlighting my progress and my life in relation to Crossfit. There are several videos, WOD’s and musings all of which are a part of my training focus over the past year leading up to the sectionals. I hope you enjoy it and encourage anyone to check it out. Thanks again and can’t wait to meet everyone out at TNT.
