Tears are NEVER good. They hinder your training and increase the ever present chances of infection.
There are a few things that you can do to prevent this.
1. Every night while showering, hit the calluses with a pumice stone to keep them manageable.
2. Use tape or gymnastic grips.
When they do occur, I always use new skin or super glue to cover them.
Good luck. And take care of your hands.

Agree with Paul. Take care of those hands!!!! All rips do is set your training back.

Stop complaining! This means you finally moved up in my books! I give high fives to all that rip, tear and bleed!!!
But really, don't be in the lame gloves club, buy leather grips, they will do you more justice then those silly gloves you buy at Dicks or Sports Authority.
Sorry if I offended anyone who may be in that club?

Simmer down Simmers, not everyone can handle the intense pain that new skin puts on you. Thanks for the advice Paul. The new rips aren't as bad.
