From my Beginning to Yours - #39

At the start of last week, I was battling a cough and major congestion. Knowing I was signed up for the CrossFit 314 team competition on Saturday I made the decision to rest Tuesday through Friday. Saturday came quick but I was unbelievably excited and determined to kick butt at our competition! The day consisted of four workouts, 1 completely of burpees and jumping to 5 - 10-foot targets. The 2nd was all lifting. Needless to say, that was my favorite of the day. The third workout was a follow-the-leader style that had everything from kettlebell swings to box jump overs and rowing. Most interesting though was the floater WOD. Floater meaning one you can do at any point throughout the day within a certain time frame. This competition's floater WOD was pushing a huge truck (in neutral) the length of the parking lot. Aka, the world's biggest sled push. At first, I was skeptical of the floater WOD but I'm so excited to say our team finished second overall of scaled and RX teams at 22.5 seconds. In the scaled division our team finished 14th out of 25 in the competition. It was such an amazing day with a great team in Josh, Marcus, and Melissa. In addition to the excitement of the competition, December has kicked off at quite a challenging pace. There are days the continued congestion has made workout time close to unbearable. With the exception of rest days the week of the competition, I have been able to power through and am down three and a half more pounds since Thanksgiving week. I'm feeling really good about the way I see 2016 ending and am excited for what's to come.

Next Saturday, TNT will be hosting the Clash Of The Classes where morning and evening crews will go head to head...early spoiler, Dawn Patrol will win. Right, Joe Moll? ;) I hope everyone is having a joyous and happy holiday season! Don't wait until January 1st to get moving. Send 2016 out with a bang. Get after it!!
