Apply the quote to anything, 365 opportunities to be the person you want to be everyday. 365 opportunities to commit to something and follow through. 365 opportunities to educate your mind, better your body and nourish your soul. What a way to approach a year of your life!
You could even say 365 opportunities to meet 365 goals! Start today, set an attainable goal everyday. Repetitive, simple, choices over time equal life changing habits. Right?! For example, tell yourself, every day I will spend 10 minutes, in a quiet place, being mindful. Tomorrow I will commit a random act of kindness, pay it forward, call an old friend. This year, I will commit to a life of substance, not status. Are you happy with who you are and your daily surroundings? Do you want to grow?
This life is your own book and while we visit each other's chapters for a time, on your last page will you have lived the life on this earth that you were made to? Did you shine, leave a legacy? Make an impact?
In reference to our opportunities for physical improvement. Choose Today, not tomorrow. I love what CrossFit has taught me about caring for my body. Pushing my physical limits increases my capacity for personal growth as a whole. Who doesn't want that?!
This month at CrossFit TNT we are getting ready to participate in the CrossFit Open. I feel the fatigue in my body, the drag of the cold and the heaviness of sleep when the early morning alarm hits but I'm pushing through it. I'm so excited that these past few weeks I've gotten my first jumping chest to bar pull ups and made real progress on knee raises. I'm now feeling like the toes to bar movement is a feasible goal for the future. I'd like to see my time delay decrease between 20-inch box jumps in the next month. I'm sure these are all things that will continue to improve over time.
