My normal gym routine at CrossFit TNT is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings at 5am. If I'm lucky, I'll make it to an Olympic lifting class too.
There are so many things in life where control is out of our reach. One thing we can control is the choice to make time to better our health and bodies. Given that, when I crawled into bed last night at 11:00, completely exhausted, I did it with the intention of giving myself an hour at 5am today to start the day off right.
I overslept, fought the urge to use that as an excuse to stay home and I looked awful; but, I went anyway. I loved the WOD and the 1st tire flips of 2017 but most of all I loved the feeling when, at 6am, I could look back and say I didn't regret my choice at all!
The last few weeks I've lost some days out of my normal routine and my body let me know about it. I have let stress, a busy schedule and everyday life be an excuse for poor nutrition. Overall, I'm going to honestly say I didn't just fall off the healthy choices wagon I'm pretty sure I leaped off of it and ran away screaming. Lol!!!
My point is this. It's time to get back on track. Yes, I'm typically hard on myself. I do acknowledge there have been some high points in the last few weeks. I hit a 40-pound personal record when I front squatted 233 pounds and again when I pushed through this months benchmark workout RX at 103 pounds. Last year, I completed the same workout at 83 pounds.
The last few weeks could have been better but the important thing is not giving up. Push through the days when you are dragging and making the choice to leap back on the nutritional wagon. It is worth it.
You are worth it. Thank you so much to all of you who stick through this journey with me. As always, it's my hope that the struggles and successes I go through will help you find inspiration to be the best you, you can be.
