I'm gearing up! At CrossFit TNT we are just a week away from the beginning of our Lurong Living summertime challenge. I've been working over these last few weeks to decrease consumption of and remove some things from my diet I know won't follow the challenge guidelines. After noticing recently my water intake had substantially decreased while my coffee (not black) intake was increasing I've been focusing on getting back on track with staying hydrated while also working on dialing in what I'm eating and at what time of day.
In relation to my diet, I'm forever going through cycles of success only to find myself backtracking and in need of regrouping, reassurance and in some cases a swift kick in the butt. While the key is never giving up, in my opinion, the key to success is finding just the right balance for me and one that I can stick with.
I can fairly confidently say that when I took on the whole Life Challenge it was not the dream match for me but during past Lurong challenges I've felt more committed and of the mindset that "I can do this".
So- here I am 4 days before the 2 year anniversary of the first time I walked in the door of CrossFit TNT, in fact, it was for an informational meeting regarding the then upcoming Lurong Challenge. While I can say with confidence CrossFit, most specifically, lifting weights has become a staple in my life I have yet to find my niche of commitment in the diet world. What's missing? I don't know. There is definitely a breakdown that happens between my love of baking/cooking and the overall need to maintain a lifestyle of "clean" eating. Splenda in the coffee, cookies in the oven and cauliflower mashed potatoes with dinner don't really sound a part of the same diet. I'm hoping to find a maintainable balance through this upcoming challenge. Both one I will feel comfortable with and one that will increase my rate of weight loss.
I'm loving the start of the summer activities at TNT. I'm so looking forward to the upcoming swim wods, yoke carries, tire flips and other outdoor activities.
