From My Beginning To Yours - Blog #57

Most of the last two weeks have been different for me. The beginning of a new routine for our family, our baby girl has started Kindergarten! The emotions that come with such a momentous time leave this Momma feeling a bit out of sorts and easily yields an excuse to abandon my routine. It’s so easy for all of us to make excuses when even the slightest change occurs in our day to day life.

I’m happy to say that while my 5 AM workouts have been scarce I have still been able to maintain four WOD’s a week over these past two weeks. Throughout the WOD’s, I’ve been able to focus on improvements to my Double Unders, weighted lunges, and sled work. It felt great to finish this week’s workouts at 5 AM today with some of my favorite people by my side making me laugh and helping me to feel motivated as we all supported each other.

In working with Coach Rochelle and the Real Plans App I’ve continued to organize some great meals for my family. My husband and I made things like a Tomato Bacon Quiche with a sweet potato crust, Sausage Zucchini Boats, Coconut Chai Pudding and Korean Beef Satay. All so good! Most of which the kids ate with us!

Each and every positive choice adds up just like the negative ones. I admit to a lack of commitment when I ate that doughnut before church Sunday Morning and when I ate that 1st and then 2nd cupcake over my daughter’s birthday earlier this week. I’m not striving for perfection, rather I’m striving to make more good choices than not and continue to improve both in the gym and in the kitchen.

I had a blast getting to workout with my husband two times this week and have continued to enjoy the summer swim WOD’s even as they are coming to an end. I’m looking forward to getting ready for the upcoming Festivus Games with my partner Julie.
