It's 12:15 AM on November 25th. I, like maybe some of you, am happy to feel the turkey coma lifting, leaving behind the anticipation of the Christmas and Holiday season to come.
For the 1st time in my adult life I can look back on more than an entire year of routine and say I'm thankful for exercise. In 36 more days, when the clock strikes midnight, "start a gym routine" doesn't have to be a part of my yearly resolutions because my gym routine is already a part of me.
While my hope for all of you is that this time of year is filled with happiness, love and family. I know that in all likelihood it will also include, stress, deadlines, cranky shoppers, endless to do lists, and so much more.
This December, I'm looking forward to using my time at CrossFit TNT to clear my mind and keep perspective. I'm looking forward to participating in the CrossFit 314 competition with many fellow athletes from CrossFit TNT. I'm looking forward to meeting some year end goals and also taking time to set realistic ones for the coming months and year.
I invite you all to find just 1 thing to do for you, to better your health as we reach the end of 2016. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park at the back of the lot and walk to get to the store, volunteer at a local shelter. Maybe even take that free 1st class at CrossFit TNT you keep hearing about.
Start now. Don't wait until the new year and another round of shoulda, woulda, coulda's. I'm so happy to be doing things like improving my pull up strength, confidence in box jumps and both mental and physical endurance in long workouts. No matter where you are physically, there is a starting point for you with CrossFit. The scale does NOT define you. Your age does NOT define you. Most importantly though, I invite you to get moving and stay moving. Finish 2016 strong.
