Athlete of the Month - Jim Donovan

At first, when I received the email that I was chosen to be Athlete of the Month I thought they sent it to the wrong person. I had to double-check to make sure it was sent to the right email address. How in the world could it be me with all the other amazing members at TNT. Well, Courtney confirmed it was sent to the right person, so I will take it.

I am extremely grateful and humbled to be selected. I started coming to Swift classes a few years ago and continue to enjoy it today. I am not a morning person (unless I have a tee time) but I can honestly say that I look forward to coming to the 6am Swift every day. I grew up playing several different sports so being a part of a team is important to me. I look at our 6am group as a team. Constant encouragement, everyone pushing each other to work hard, and tons of morning laughs. It is the best way to start my day.

To anyone looking to join a gym or maybe looking for a fresh start, look no further. I live about 15 minutes from TNT and pass a bunch of gyms in route to get there because this place has been life-changing for me. To be honest, I do not follow a strict diet (I probably should), I probably have too much fun on the weekends, and pizza is my favorite food , but I am welcomed to come to this gym as I am. The coaches at TNT thrive to push us to be better but never judge. They encourage you to just keep coming…no matter what stage of your life you are in. I could not be more of just a “normal guy” that loves coming to this non-intimidating gym where people welcome and encourage you to come as you are.

To Oscar and all the coaches at TNT, I say Thank You! Thank you for keeping the workouts challenging and occasionally fun. I mean let’s face it, who really enjoys pushing a sled or doing a ton of burpees to start your day. Thank You for inspiring everyone that comes through the door to better themselves. Thank you for creating an atmosphere where a normal guy like myself can feel welcome and a part of the team!
