The workout today (Sunday 10/27) was challenging. It was 3 different elements with a time cap and ended with my nemesis... the bike. I had convinced myself that I wouldn't finish, but the class members kept encouraging and even though they were done - they held me accountable and I finished with 30 seconds to spare. That pretty much sums up what CrossFit TNT means to me and how it has changed my life. The word ATHLETE and my name have never been used in a sentence together unless it was referencing my son. I've never played an organized sport. The thought of going to a gym was terrifying because everyone there was so good, right? In May 2018 my doctor said he was finally happy with my weight. Glad he was because I was not. It was all soft tissue. Granted, I've never been very big, but I wasn't happy with how I looked or felt. He suggested a gym and on the way home, I stopped at CrossFit TNT. Sarah Vacek was there and asked me to join her in the "bring a friend" class. That was a no-go since I was wearing flip-flops but her encouragement made me come back. Truth: I cried all the way home after the first 5 classes. Truth: My muscles never hurt so much in my life. Truth: I really didn't like the workouts - but that was because I couldn't do them. Everything changed once I was able to complete a workout in the time cap. Then I started finding workouts that I enjoyed. I am so grateful to the coaches and the TNT community for encouraging this not-very-young gal and changing my attitude about fitness and myself. If I can do it - anyone can do it!!
